The Kanha Jungle Camp’s Symbiotic Architecture

Perched near the Mulki Gate of Kanha National Park, the Kanha Jungle Camp redefines the intersection of sustainability, design, and nature.

This thoughtfully crafted lodge offers four distinctive cottage types—elevated, semi-elevated, ground-level, and underground—each blending seamlessly with the natural landscape. The design narrative draws from the diverse habitats found in the wild: canopy, branches, meadows, and burrows. These themes resonate throughout the interiors, reflected in a careful curation of textures, tones, and spatial arrangements that evoke a profound connection with the environment.

Local tribal artisans played a pivotal role in crafting the aesthetic identity of the camp. Their intricate art, rendered on the walls of the cottages and communal spaces, celebrates the region’s cultural heritage while fostering community engagement. The integration of these works creates a dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.

With a rustic-modern aesthetic, the camp strikes a perfect balance between comfort and authenticity. From the interplay of natural textures to the carefully curated details, every element invites guests to connect deeply with Kanha’s untamed beauty.
